MERAK: A Google Sites Portfolio Template for Designers
MERAK is a Google Sites portfolio template built for graphic designers, illustrators and small creative studios. It uses the Vision theme in a muted slate gray, so the projects carry the color and the layout stays out of the way. The demo is set up for an independent designer who works on brand identity, print and web projects.
Pages included in this portfolio template
- Home: a full-width header photo, a short introduction and a three-column grid of selected projects, each with an image, a title and one line about the brief, plus a button to the full Work page.
- Work: larger project cards for case studies, such as a website design and an illustration series.
- About: a photo next to a short biography and the tools you use.
- Contact: what to include in a project request, your email, studio address and social profiles.
How to adapt MERAK to your own work
Replace the sample photos with images of your projects, ideally one strong image per project, and rewrite each caption with the client, the brief and your role. To add a project, duplicate one of the existing content blocks in the Google Sites editor. PDFs of full case studies, slide decks and videos can be embedded straight from Google Drive or YouTube on the Work page.
The color and fonts come from the Vision theme, so you can switch them from the Themes panel without touching the layout. MERAK fits designers who want a clean online portfolio they can update themselves, with no hosting or plugins to maintain.
