ORVEX: A Google Sites Capstone Portfolio Template

ORVEX is a Google Sites capstone portfolio template for college students who need to document a final project from the first question to the defense. It looks like a design dossier: grid paper, crop marks, black and signal red, with Archivo for the text and a monospaced font for labels and figure captions.

What this capstone portfolio includes

  • Home: the project title, your name, major and advisor, an abstract band with duration, team, role and tools, and cards for the main phases.
  • Problem: what you set out to solve, who it affects and how you defined success.
  • Research: methods, key findings and numbered figures for interviews, sources or data.
  • Process: a project timeline and the sketches, prototypes and tests that shaped the idea.
  • Outcome: the final deliverable and its results.
  • Reflection: what worked, what you would change and what comes next.

Tips for a capstone ePortfolio

Write the abstract last and keep it to two or three sentences that a recruiter can follow without knowing your field. Number every figure and refer to it in the text, as you would in the written report. Large files such as videos, CAD models or datasets are easier to share from Google Drive with a link on the Outcome page.

The same structure works for senior design projects, honors theses and master's projects; rename the sections to match your program's guidelines.
