SADIRA: A Google Sites Student Teaching Portfolio Template
SADIRA is a Google Sites template for the portfolio teacher candidates put together during their student teaching placement. It uses warm terracotta, sage and cream with arch-shaped photo frames, and a serif for headings that reads like a classroom poster without looking childish.
What this student teaching portfolio includes
- Home: an introduction, a band with your placement at a glance (school, grade and subject, mentor teacher and dates) and links to the three main sections.
- Philosophy: your teaching philosophy, with space for what you believe about learning and how it shows in your classroom.
- Lesson plans: four cards for units and lessons, including a small group lesson and an assessment with its rubric and student samples.
- Evidence: artifacts organized by the four domains of the Danielson Framework for Teaching: planning and preparation, the classroom environment, instruction and professional responsibilities.
- Reflection: observations, feedback from your mentor and supervisor, and what you changed after each one.
Student teaching portfolio examples and tips
Programs differ in the standards they ask you to document. If yours uses InTASC or a state framework instead of Danielson, keep the Evidence page and rename its four blocks. For each artifact, add one or two sentences on why it shows the standard; reviewers read that note first.
Remove student faces and names from photos and work samples unless the school has given written permission, and keep the original files in a private Drive folder.
